Meet Our Team

Alex Urrea Photo
Alex Urrea Founder
Alex started his career as a Physics teacher and has been leading educational organizations for over 25 years. He has founded two professional learning organizations focused on empowering educators to unlock the potential of every learner. Alex consults with leading education companies and nonprofits on strategy and execution to impact K-12 education. He is President of an educational foundation that has grown more than tenfold under his leadership, and Chairman of a nonprofit foundation focused on mental wellness for children. Alex has a BS in Physics, a MSc in Econometrics and Financial Engineering and a MS in Instructional Design.
John Henry Photo
John Henry Executive Director
John Henry has worked for over twenty-nine years in public education. He has a master’s in technology education, coordinating various programs including an electric vehicle program during his teaching career. He co-authored and received a NASA Explorer Schools grant for Woodbury High School and was selected as a NASA Einstein Fellow, serving at NASA’s Office of Education in Washington DC. He later joined the New Jersey School Boards Association as senior manager of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) and Sustainable Schools. He collaborated with the U.S. Army to develop outreach, leadership, and team- building programs for high school students. John is the creator and developer of NJ’s STEAM Tank, an entrepreneurial design challenge that incorporates invention, problem solving and sustainability. He was lead trainer for a Federal Department of Education grant in Technology, and Problem- Based Learning. He served on the board of directors for the US Green Building Council and managed the New Jersey’s Green Program of Study for the NJ Department of Education. He has received awards and recognition from Sustainable Jersey, NJ Audubon, and the Department of Environmental Protection. He is also a certified Radical Remission Project instructor, and a holistic health and wellness coach helping people through chronic illness.
