Organizations often have strong programs and ideas but lack the tools, preparation, or grant writing capacity to turn funding opportunities into successful applications. Rethink Grants bridges that gap by providing the right level of support at every stage of the grant process, from finding and equipping teams with the resources they need, to preparing for major opportunities, to developing and submitting grants on their behalf.

Rethink Grants is a partnership between Rethink Learning, Inc., The Sailor Justice Project, and the National Consortium for Entrepreneurial Education (EntreEd). Our goal is to support educational institutions — including those providing higher education, K-12 education, informal education, as well as nonprofits focused on education at all ages — pursue the funding that will let them do great things. Consistent with the mission of Rethink Learning, Rethink Grants is dedicated to improving education through the conduct and application of research to a variety of learning environments.

2nd STEP PROGRAM: Supporting Teachers and Schools Past a Single Classroom Grant

You got the grant and you did the thing! What’s next? Our 2nd Step program is designed to support teachers and schools to apply for additional funds to support their innovative approaches. 2nd Step helps you identify what the next step might be for the project you already had funded – is it to buy additional classroom materials so the project can become standard in your school? Is it to share the work with other schools? Is it to grow the work beyond your own school? Is it to learn how to do evaluation that will support future funding? Rethink Grants is here to help. Prices start at $150 per hour for consulting and grant writing support.

 

GRANT CAPACITY: Build Your Funding Pipeline & Equip Your Team – $3,500

For organizations that already have grant writing capacity but need funding intelligence, practical tools, and expert guidance to move faster.

Includes:

  • Customized Funding Pipeline: Research and prioritization of up to 15 qualified funding opportunities, including funder information, funding amounts, deadlines, eligibility, priorities, application links, and organizational fit.
  • Grant Writing Toolkit: Ready to use templates for narratives, letters of inquiry, organizational boilerplate, project descriptions, goals and objectives, budgets, budget justifications, work plans, and proposal review and submission.
  • AI Grant Support: Practical AI and LLM prompts for grant research, project development, writing, editing, and proposal review.
  • Expert Consultation: One 60 minute consultation to review the organization’s funding priorities, pipeline, and next steps.

 

 

GRANT DEVELOPMENT: Turn Your Funding Opportunity Into a Strong Application  – $7,500

For organizations that have identified a funding opportunity and want experienced grant professionals to develop a strong, competitive application with their team.

Rethink Grants leads the grant development process while working with the organization to ensure the proposal reflects its programs, priorities, and expertise.

Includes:

  • Application Strategy: Review the funding opportunity, interpret requirements, assess alignment, and develop the application strategy and timeline.
  • Research & Project Development: Conduct supporting research and work with the organization to develop or refine the project, goals, objectives, activities, outcomes, evaluation, and sustainability.
  • Grant Writing: Develop and write the full grant narrative and required application components.
  • Budget Development: Develop the project budget and budget justification and ensure alignment between the budget and proposal.
  • Review & Revision: Coordinate drafts and revisions and conduct a final review for funder alignment, consistency, and quality.

GRANT OFFICE: Your Full-Service Grants Team From Opportunity to Award – $15,000 for a 3-month engagement

For organizations that need an experienced grants team to support the funding process from opportunity identification through application submission and post-award activities.

Rethink Grants becomes an extension of the organization’s team, providing dedicated grant development, submission, and post-award support throughout the engagement.

Includes:

  • Funding Strategy & Research: Identify and prioritize funding opportunities aligned with the organization’s programs, priorities, and goals.
  • Grant Development: Develop and write grant applications, including narratives, budgets, supporting materials, and required attachments.
  • Application Management: Manage application requirements, timelines, information gathering, drafts, revisions, and submission.
  • Submission Support: Prepare and submit applications on the organization’s behalf.
  • Post-Award Support: Support award setup, reporting requirements, grant deliverables, funder reporting, renewals, and closeout.
  • Ongoing Grant Capacity: Provide an experienced grant team that works alongside organizational leadership and staff to maintain a consistent funding pipeline and grant development process.
